Rhym Guissé, Director


Roukya Rhym Guissé is a Los Angeles-based director & producer who specializes in the brand content space for tv, social networks, and gaming platforms. Her directing credits include an 8-part social justice series for the NBA, as well as a 5-part Nickelodeon series. She has also produced for some of the biggest names in the advertising & pharma world.

Rhym - pronounced “reem” - was born in Algeria to an Algerian mother and a father from Mali. Rhym grew up in Algeria, Mali, and Ivory Coast before immigrating to Louisiana, and moving to Philadelphia and then eventually Los Angeles. As a storyteller, she is passionate about stories that empower and celebrate identity and culture, with a particular emphasis on the immigrant experience. Rhym also writes & develops original content, and her work was a Screenplay Semifinalist at the Atlanta Film Festival, and a Diverse Voices Official Screenplay Selection. She is currently developing her debut feature, Race to Tilébin.

Rhym fluently speaks English and French (native French speaker).

Outside of work, she enjoys camping with her husband, face time with her family abroad, and dancing to afrobeats.
