Oc87 Recovery Diaries

Since 2016, FreshFly and director Glenn Holsten have been creating short films for OC87 Recovery Diaries that open a window into the lived experience of someone traveling a mental health journey. The films feature high production values, bold storytelling, and have garnered many awards. They give the “red carpet treatment” to stories of challenge and hope. They shed new light on journeys for general audience members, and validate the experience for others who might share a similar diagnosis or experience.

These innovative and engaging films have an infinite lifespan.

They premiere on the client’s site and are promoted via social media channels. They are also packaged in different ways and shared on different platforms:

• Screenings at conferences and workshops

• YouTube live events

• Public television broadcasts

• Mental health trainings for first responders nationwide

The goal of the website, and our film series, is to tackle stigma and create a starting place for a healthy dialogue about mental health. We do this by crafting films that portray strong, smart, tenacious human beings who struggle through pain and suffering to make a better world for all of us.

The entire series of films has an organic quality – the approach and execution to each story is unique, as are the men and women featured in each film.
